All children develop differently. Your little athlete may excel in the younger age group for one discipline but blossom with the older kids for another. Our schedule is fluid. New classes are often added to accommodate family schedules. Your Taste of PBJ instructor can recommend a game plan that works best for your family.

Before beginning group lessons you will schedule a private class to get a Taste of PBJ. Your child will sample our routines and acquire basic skills in a 1:1 or family class. Tasters allow us to design a child-centered program that will nurture each student's development.

Yoga Program
Yoga Wiggle- Toddlers will learn simple yoga poses in a kind and forgiving environment. Repetitive songs and easy poses will keep kids engaged while giving them space to explore the environment. Early breathing exercises will be introduced to help calm young minds and relax little bodies. Parents are invited to join in the fun and sing along!
Yoga Breathe- Offers Predictable routine with chanting, breathwork, and attention to technique. Calming atmosphere with fewer distractions and slower tempo than Wiggle classes. Poses are adapted to be accessible to every body. Yoga Breathe classes are only available as private lessons at this age to ensure your little one's safety.
Through repetition and routine, children know what to expect from each class and feel safe enough to grow. A lot of tots prefer to sit back and observe during the first few classes. Don't be fooled! They are still soaking it in and will likely break out their down doggie when we aren't watching.

Multi-Age Family Yoga:
Pre-Climbing Movement Program
Snuggly Seals can start developing pre-climbing motor skills. Crawlers and early walkers start to traverse, down climb, balance, and listen to cues. The majority of this class takes place on soft play equipment with less time spent on the vertical climbing walls. Kids will venture further into the climbing gym in Turtle Tots classes. Young toddler climbing is less structured with opportunities for children to interact with equipment in more of an "invitation to play" environment.
Depending on each day's schedule, movement classes either begin with 15 minutes of circle time and yoga songs, or are followed by an all ages family yoga class (included in the movement sign up, you don't need to register for both classes). Toddlers are encouraged to join in for the first 10-15 minutes of family yoga as the beginning of class is repetition heavy. They are also welcome to stay for the full class with the big kids, snuggle up in the cozy corner, or leave early. You can judge what will be best for your little one and play it by ear!

Private Swim Program
Our Snuggly Seals private program is the fastest method to get young children safer in the water. The consistency and one on one attention is proven to produce comfortable and confident swimmers. Classes are 10-15 minutes long several times per week. Some children require more frequent lessons in the beginning as they adjust to the new environment.
This class is intended for students who are mobile. Crawlers and toddlers will be learning water adjustment, swimming arms, back floats, and several safety techniques. Since children now have the mobility to get to the pool edge by themselves, a large portion of each class will be spent practicing listening skills and patience.
These are not infant survival lessons but swimmers will learn similar techniques in a non threatening child-led environment.
Most babies learn best without their parent in the water, but you can discuss the best approach for your family with your instructor.

Group Swim Program
Our Snuggly Seals group class is intended for students who can sit upright for several minutes without support. Crawlers & toddlers will learn water adjustment, swimming arms, back floats, and several safety techniques.
Level 1 (parent participation)- Intended for students who have never been in swimming lessons before, or who are not yet old enough to sit on the steps alone. Students learn water adjustment, swimming arms, back floats, and several safety techniques. This is a parent participation class. The instructor will lead the group in skill building activities as well as taking one-on-one turns with each child. Group lessons are a less intensive option where you can set the pace of our child's progression.
Level 2 (parent participation)- This class is the bridge between Little Squirts classes and those where the children are in the water with only the instructor. The goal is to ween the parent out of the water so that children can practice sitting on the steps by themselves. They will build on the skills learned in little squirts. Parents may be asked to hop out 5 minutes early or sit with their feet in the pool as children transition to independent sitting.
Level 3 (parent involvement from pool deck)- Children will practice taking turns and following simple directions. As there are no parents in the pool for this class, toddlers will focus on safety skills for a large portion of each class. They will practice falling off of the steps/wall, and grabbing the wall. These classes may be limited to 2 students and 20 minutes. Classes take place in a very small area as swimmers learn to take turns.
