5/10-5/23/15: Flip Turns, Toprope & Inversions

Kids will show off their circus skills upside down and all around!  We're headed to the big top to practice somersaults in the pool, headstands on the mat, and toprope on the wall.

Swim
Swimmers will be diving through rings of fire and focusing on flip turns while earning carnival games.  Classes will look very different for a 2 yr old and an 8 yr old, but everyone will learn age/level appropriate skills.
  • Recognize when/where to dive Safely
  • Assisted Head First entries
  • Jump/Dive in and swim 1-3 Breaths
  • Refine Diving technique
  • Beginning Somersaults
  • Freestyle Flip Turns
  • Backstroke Flip Turns

Climb
Climbers will show off on overhanging walls and follow in the footsteps of the man on the flying trapeze on toprope.
    • Begin to tie Figure 8 Knots
    • Recognize and climb on Overhanging walls
    • Practice Belay commands
    • Perform Partner Checks

Yoga
Yogis will flip upside down to find a fresh perspective :).  We will begin Thich Nhat Hanh's Pebble Meditation and kids will bring home their own bag of pebbles for home practice at the end of the series.
