Breaststroke, Loving Kindness, and Resting

Swim
Swimmers will be focusing on breaststroke and underwater swimming.  Classes will look very different for a 2 yr old and an 8 yr old, but everyone will learn age/level appropriate skills.  


Some of the skills we will work on in order of difficulty are:

• Underwater swimming with forward movement
  
• Swimming down to retrieve toys with "breaststroke-like" arms
  
• Concept of gliding (forward movement while body stays still)
  
• Learning a proper breast stroke kick
  
• Learning proper breast stroke arms
  
• Combining the pull (arms), breath, kick, and glide in the right order (timing)
• Breast stroke drills and perfecting technique

Climb
Climbers will be focusing on resting and stemming while playing frozen inspired games.  Everyone will learn age/level appropriate skills.  The class will be split 50/50 between bouldering and toproping.  

Some of the skills we will work on in order of difficulty are:

• Learning body positions to Rest during a climb
• Defining and identifying Dihedral climbs
• Identifying and utilizing Sloper holds
• Practicing Stemming in dihedrals
• Practicing Endurance with continuous traversing

Yoga
Yogis will be learning about loving kindness and freezing (stillness).  We will play frozen inspired games and use the soundtrack as a background to our practice. Each class will look different and incorporate age appropriate games and poses.

Some of the poses we will play with are:

• Happy Baby (rolling troll)
• Warrior II (Kristoff)
• Dancer (Elsa & Anna)
• Low Squat, Forward Fold, Halfway Lift, Chair, Mountain
