It's Sarah - the other sister... :)
I live on the east coast now and we have had more snow days than school days in 2015 thanks to Juno (Fun Fact: This is the most snow Boston has seen in a 7 day period!!!).
I have been taking this time to organize my teaching materials and my computer.   It took me forever to sort through my clipart and organize it, but it will be worth it in the end (at least I hope it will)

Today I am working on sight words and all of the fun ways my students work on sight words in my kindergarten.
My students LOVE with the sight word search.  I cut out the words laminate them then "hide" the words around the room (in plain sight)
Students can choose this center activity during phonics rotations.  They take a clipboard and pencil and walk around the room searching for the words, there are only 2-3 clipboards available for this activity so it doesn't get too rowdy, but the communication and practice for the words is great!  Students really get into matching the number with the word and helping other students find the right word.  When students are done they have to read their words to 2 friends or a teacher if I am available.

Parents can use this around the house too - it keeps kids moving and they have to read their list to a family member or 2 stuffed animals before they are finished.

I have one set on TPT now for free, I am still working on getting the others off of my hard drive and edited to fit Fundations units before I can use them more this year.

I am also working on stamping books that my students really enjoy (anything with stamps)  Last year with Montessori I would have them build the word with the red and blue letters then read it and stamp it (or write it).  This year I have had them build the word with their Fundation magnets then read it and stamp it.  More to come soon!
There is one free book on TPT now (click the image for a link)
